1. Update Address in KYC Records
Step 1: Collect the
Required Documents
To update your address in KYC, you’ll need:
Documents Required:
1. KYC Details Change Form (available on any KRA or AMC website)
2. Self-attested copy of new Proof of Address, such as:
a. Aadhaar Card (latest, masked copy allowed)
b. Passport
c. Driving Licence
d. Voter ID
e. Latest Utility Bill (Electricity, Gas, Landline — not older
than 3 months)
f. Bank Account Statement or Passbook (with address, not older
than 3 months)
3. PAN card copy (for verification).
If you are updating the address due to relocation abroad or change in
residential status (NRI), then proof of overseas address and passport copy may
be required.
Step 2: Submit the KYC Change Request
Option A: Physical Submission
1. Fill the KYC Details Change Form completely and sign it.
2. Attach self-attested copies of your documents.
3. Submit it to:
a. Your Mutual Fund distributor, or
b. Any KRA office, or
c. Any AMC branch (they will forward it to the respective KRA).
You’ll receive an acknowledgement once the documents are verified.
Option B: Online (eKYC update)
Most KRAs now allow online address change if your Aadhaar is linked and
verified.
2. Update Address in Mutual
Fund Folios
Once your KYC has been successfully updated, the new address
automatically reflects in all mutual fund folios registered under your PAN and
the same KYC.
However, if the KYC is non-validated, or if some AMCs maintain their own
records (for example, old folios or direct-held accounts), then you may need
to send a written request or Change of Address Form to each AMC, along with:
1. Self-attested new address proof
2. PAN copy
3. Latest KYC acknowledgement
3. Timeline
1. KYC update: Typically, 2–5 working days after submission.
2. Mutual fund address reflection: Within 5–7 working days after
KYC is updated.
